President's Corner:
As we get ready for the holidays and the start of a new year, I am hopeful for the promise of brighter days ahead. We have all come through an incredibly challenging 3 years since the start of the COVID 19 pandemic. I am proud of the resilience our organization and it's members and affiliates have shown in continuing to support each other while providing care and compassion to our patients and communities.
What makes us strong as an organization is not just our common sense of duty as doctors, but our special sense of family -- one that is unique to PMAH and has been carried on from founding generation to current membership. As we look toward 2023, let us continue moving forward, fostering the spirit of unity, camaraderie, fellowship, outreach, and sense of family in all that we do and to all whom we serve.

PMAH affiliate Ohana Medical Mission was the proud recipient of a $3000 grant from the Hawaii Medical Association. Immediate Past President Dr Carolina Davide accepted the check on behalf of OMM at the HMA's annual meeting at the Pacific Club. The grant was one of three funded by proceeds from HMA's silent auction at HMA's fundraising gala this past November at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Thank you to HMA for their generous gift and continued support of PMAH, our affiliates and members.

PMAH in Action!
Community service is a family affair! The Prather and the Garcia families showed up to support their hard working PMAH parents, Dr Jerald Garcia and Dr Lyla Prather in one of the Honolulu Marathon's medical tents.
This joint collaboration between the Philippine Medical Association of Hawaii and Philippine Nurses Association of Hawaii took place on December 12th 2022, during the Marathon's 50th anniversary run. It also created an opportunity for nursing students and aspiring future doctors from the Philippine PreMedical Association of Hawaii to gain volunteer hours and experience treating sprains, dehydration, heat exhaustion and muscle cramping in real time. Strong work, team!!!
