Heading Back to the Neighbor Islands
This past Labor Day weekend, PMAH held its first outer island event in almost 20 years. PMAH chose none other than the majestic Grand Wailea on Maui to hold our 3rd Quarter Meeting & Mini-CME.
Attendees strengthened their medical knowledge while listening to updates by our colleagues from Dermatology, Critical Care, Gastroenterology, and Rheumatology.
They also enjoyed a Grand Wailea lunch while Dr. Ryan Smith on behalf of Novartis discussed the benefits of Entresto.
President Dr. Regala gave an update on Ohana Medical Mission’s recent trip to the Philippines sharing,
“On the first day, we had 3,000 patients come to be seen!”
We also heard a legislation update in healthcare by Rep. Romy Cachola. Lastly, the newly launched PMAH website pmah-hawaii.org was unveiled.
We were privileged to meet members of the Philippine Maui Doctor Association headed by Dr. Errol Buntuyan. We are thankful they joined us and look forward to working closely with them in the future.
While the doctors were "working," our families were also having a great time. The kids were most likely at one of nine pools connected with slides, lazy rivers, a lava tube, and the world's only water elevator! For the adults, you could find many of them hiding out at the resort's luxurious Spa Grande or the adult-only pool with a breathtaking view.
At the end of the day, with the support from our attendees, speakers, and pharmaceutical companies we reached our goal of raising $10,000!
We are grateful for your continued support in helping PMAH and its affiliates provide medical care to the Filipino communities in need. We look forward to seeing you at Four Seasons, Ko'olina this upcoming Memorial Day weekend for our next CME!
Sincerely,
Your 2019 PMAH Board
