Kain Tayo: Tofu Sisig

Tofu Sisig

Ingredients

  • 1 block of tofu 

  • 1-2 tablespoons Magi Seasoning (can substitute with soy sauce) 

  • 1 table spoon Oyster Sauce (substitute with Vegetarian Oyster Sauce) 

  • 1 bulb of Scallions

  • 1-2 cloves Garlic 

  • Green onion 

  • 1 bell pepper 

  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

  • 2 calamansi 

  • Cooking oil 

  • 1 thai chili 

  • Kewpie Mayonnaise (can substitute for other brands or vegetarian option) 

 Optional: 

  • Mushrooms  

  • Fried Egg      

Directions

Tofu preparation: 

  1. Drain tofu 

  2. Press excess water from tofu for 15 minutes 

  3. Cut tofu into 1-inch blocks 

  4. Air Fry tofu (Pan Fry is possible also and use minimal oil) 

  5. Air fry tofu 350 degrees for 15 minutes (Flip tofu half way)

Sauce Preparation: 

  1. Wash and Dice all vegetables (scallions, garlic, bellpeppers) 

  2. In a pan sautee scallions and garlic until translucent 

  3. When translucent add bell peppers and chili 

  4. After bell peppers have cooked add tofu 

  5. Add 1 tablespoon of magi seasoning and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce 

  6. Season with pepper 

  7. Season with brown sugar 

  8. Mix kewpie mayonnaise until all tofu and vegetables are mixed through 

  9. Garnish with green onions and calamansi
