Title: Dementia: A Geriatrician’s Perspective

Objectives:

• Implement a structure work up of Dementia for the Primary Care Provider
• Utilize effective communication pearls between the patient and the provider
• Identify triggers for referral to geriatrics vs. neurology

Born and raised in Kansas. Attended University of Kansas for undergraduate and medical school. Internal medicine residency at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Geriatric fellowship at UH John A. Burns School of Medicine. Working at The Queen’s Medical Center Geriatric Services for 15 years. Married to local and have 2 children. I am passionate about dementia education for lay persons and health professionals. In my free time, I ferry my kids to their activities and squeeze in running and reading novels.
