Title: Preoperative Anesthesia Assessment
Objectives:
• To review the most common concerns that anesthesiologists have before a patient enters the OR
• To review the most common medications that need to be held before surgery and the latest recommendations
• To understand what patients are appropriate for an outpatient surgical center vs a hospital setting
After the completion of his anesthesia training at Northwestern University, Dr Baria spent more than a decade of private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area and Honolulu. He recently made the switch to academic medicine and is currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. He makes his return to PMAH, as he has fond childhood memories of attending functions with his father Efren Sr, who served as the treasurer for PMAH in the nineties. This is his first time behind the podium.
